Evo izvadka sa službenih stranica prventsva o nekolicini najzapaženijjih igrača dosadašnjeg dijela:
Toni Prostran, Croatia, Guard
Preliminary round stats: 23.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
Prostran is a big reason why Croatia have made it through to the qualifying round. He can score in so many different ways as proven by the fact that he has at least 20 points in each of the three games so far. He can just as easily take a defender off the dribble to get to the basket – where he is likely to either score or get fouled – or just launch bombs from three-point range, as he did against Latvia, connecting on six of 10 attempts to snatch a late win. He is also unselfish and looks to involve his team-mates.
Ivan Batur, Croatia, Guard
Preliminary round stats: 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals.
Batur’s best attribute is his chemistry with Prostran. They seem to know exactly where the other is on the court at all times and how to make the best of their respective abilities to complement each other. He is well rounded and is also a hard-nosed defender thanks to his long wingspan. He may be a bit passive on offense at times and doesn’t always try to create for himself – as shown by his quiet 14 and 12 point outputs against Greece and Russia respectively – but his performance against Latvia (11/16 shooting including 5/8 from three-point range) is a good reflection of his potential.
