Buster Gunning follows the shocking drama surrounding
Miami Heat superstar
Dwyane Wade and the recent court order giving him ninety days to change his name.
Actor Kadeem Hardison, who once played the smooth flip down glass
wearing character Dwyane Wayne on the quasi-hit “Cosby Show” spin-off
“A Different World,” has won a critical court case against shooting
guard
Dwyane Wade. A case that went all the way up to the Supreme Court.
The court order states that
Dwyane Wade’s
name sounds too similar to that of the former television character
Dwayne Wayne. Because the two are so similar, Wade must change his name
within ninety days and if he chooses to keep his given birth name, he
must pay out royalties to actor Hardison every time his name is
mentioned on television or in print.
Hardison pled to the court that he would certainly go broke if he
wasn’t able to use his famous television characters name for special
promo appearances such as new Jiffy Lube openings, reality show guest
appearances, half-time giveaways at athletic events and various other
revenue generating activities.
Justice Sutter delivered the dissenting remarks for the case simply stating:
“I am not sure if we can rule in favor of Kadeem Hardison, I have never even heard of him, let alone seen that show.”
The Duane Reade line of stores is also getting idea of telling Wade he needs a new name.

Wade is said to be considering new names. One report stated that
Wade is attempting to base his new name from his nickname “flash.” The
shooting guard was set on changing his name to
Flash Gordon.
Unfortunately, the name has already been used.
