However, the deal could not be completed by the deadline of 1am yesterday. Spurs were granted an extra hour beyond the midnight cut-off on the final day of the transfer window because they had submitted a so-called 'deal sheet’ to the Premier League by 9pm.
The extension is common practice — Fulham were granted a similar addition as they tried and failed to sign Wilson Palacios from Stoke City on Friday night — but the deal was also complicated by third-party ownership issues.
The failure to sign Moutinho comes as a blow to Spurs head coach Andre Villas-Boas who had identified the 25 year-old as the man he wanted to replace Luka Modric, who was sold to Real Madrid on Monday — as revealed by The Sunday Telegraph last weekend — for £33 million.
Porto had accepted Spurs’ bid after it was raised to their €30 million (£24 million) asking price. But with Porto having paid Sporting Lisbon €11 million (£9 million) for Moutinho, his former club was due 25 per cent of the profit (£3.8 million) while an investor was also due 15 per cent of the overall fee (£3.6 million).
Porto had reluctantly agreed to sell – partly because Moutinho had pushed for the deal and also because they needed to raise their revenues after Hulk remained at the club. Spurs planned to complete the Moutinho deal in addition to signing Clint Dempsey for £6 million, and had they succeeded would probably have sent Tom Huddlestone to Fulham on loan.

Ja gledao utakmicu i Sunderland nije mogao nista.A samo je sudac sprijecio Swansea do treceg gola ,istina malo ga je okrznio ali nista strasno taman za zuti zbog neoprezne igre.
