Bayern tops 400 millions in revenues, a new record
Records, records records. FC Bayern beat many of them on the pitch and established another one on the balance sheet. Season 2012-13 was marked by record revenues of 432.8 million euros, compared to 373.4 millions the year before.
The club held its annual meeting on Wednesday, adding the financial aspect to its treble-winning season.
Operating profits, which give a good snapshot of the health of any company, went up 11% to 95.6 millions. After tax, the jump is 30% to 14 millions.
A good chunk of that profit goes back to shareholders in the form of a 8.25 million dividend, which gives 30 cents per share. Around 81.8% of the club is held by its members.
The club also has 154 millions in financial assets.
FC Bayern also has almost 224000 members, more than double the figures from 10 years ago. It also has more than 3500 fan clubs worldwide.
The annual meeting also was an occasion for the club leadership and members to show their solidarity towards Uli Hoeneß, who will face a trial for tax evasion in March. The president was teary-eyes for a few moments because of that attention.
