Ante Vukusic 'tracked by Arsenal as replacement for Nicklas Bendtner'
Arsenal scouts have renewed their interest in Croatian forward Ante
Vukusic with manager Arsene Wenger lining up the 19-year-old as a
potential replacement for Nicklas Bendtner.
Blackburn Rovers are reported to be considering offering Arsenal
L15million for Bendtner, an offer they feel will be too good for manager
Arsene Wenger to turn down in the summer transfer window.
Bendtner has said he will re-asses his position at Arsenal in the summer
and given his indifferent performances this season it appears
increasingly likely he will be sold by Wenger.
As a result, the Frenchman has once again turned his attentions to
19-year-old Vukusic who continues to impress for his Croatian side
Hajduk Split.
The striker, who has scored 14 times in just 22 appearances this season,
was strongly linked with a move away from Croatia during the January
transfer window.
Both Arsenal and Spurs were said to have been closely monitoring the
teenager at the start of the year, with Croatian reports claiming the
Gunners have now resurrected their interest in the 19-year-old.
