Kenya U18 midfielder Tyron Kariuki has left the country for Croatia this evening, where he is set to sign for HNK Hajduk Split, Mozzart Sport can exclusively reveal.
The young attacking midfielder came to the limelight in December 2023 when his breathtaking performances caught the eye of many within and outside the country.
Spanish academy Nastic Sports Academy, which has been on a signing spree of Kenyan players, sent a proposal to the player, but his club Rainbow FC turned it down. This move generated heat amongst the Kenyan football community before things cooled down.
His omission from the Emerging Stars squad that featured in the COSAFA Cup in South Africa raised eyebrows. Kenya exited the championship in the group stage after two wins over Zambia and Zimbabwe and a loss to Comoros.
The midfielder has now earned a move to Croatia and is set to sign for the club’s U21 team, where he will commence his career as he seeks to work his way up into the first team.
