jako je zanimljivo kako je Niko odigrao majstorski kad je Luka bio out i hvatao formu, a onda Luka kad je Niko pokupio ozljedu.

kad smo kod Nike, steta sto ne uziva takvu reputaciju kao Luka (tu je Harry kriv), u najmanju ruku ima jednako uspjesnu sezonu (ako ne i za nijansu bolju, barem statisticki)

 

E, samo sto statistike sve ne pokaze.  Iniesta ima groznu statistiku u Barcelonu, ali je i dalje jedan od najbolji igraci (i netko tko je vrlo slican Modrica.).

Kranjcaru svaka cast, i ja sam prvi koji ce ga braniti kada je to upotrebno, ali Modric ima vecu reputaciju sa razlogom i to nije samo zbog Redknappa (koji ga je hvalio i dok je trenirao Pompey). 

Ako se sjecas, kada smo pobijedili Engleze u engleskoj, on je rekao da nijedan igrac iz hrvatske nebi igrao u englesku reprezentaciju, osim Modric.   To je tada bilo.  A kada ga je poceo trenirati u Tottenhamu, rekao je da je i bolji nego sto je mislio (iako je i tada rekao da je "world class").

uh modric+rooney, to bi bila jako dobra kombinacija.
iako fali jos jedan napadac jer kad se shrek ozlijedi nema kruva...onaj bugarski cigan nije ta klasa.

ha, tipicni engleski snobizam. ja bi rekao da od one engleske koja je istrcala na wembleyu u hrvatskoj momcadi u tom trenutku bi mogao igrati samo lampard.

Harry Redknapp confident Tottenham can keep Luka Modric out of Manchester United's clutches

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has warned any club thinking of trying to lure Luka Modric away from White Hart Lane not to bother.

Manchester United have recently been linked with a move for the Croatian midfielder, who has been an integral part of Spurs' push for Champions League football.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly interested in signing Modric and recently lavished praise on the 24-year old, describing him as player who is "playing out of his skin".

Modric has scored two goals and provided countless assists to help propel Spurs into the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot with three games to go.

Redknapp insists that he needs players of Modric's calibre at the club if they are to progress, and is adamant that he is not for sale.

"He's not a player we should even be thinking about selling or want to sell," Redknapp said.

Modric is thought to have signed a six-year contract when he arrived in London from Dinamo Zagreb in 2008 while Spurs were managed by Juande Ramos.

And the L16million man has remained a regular ever since Redknapp took over from the Spaniard.

Redknapp insists he has a good relationship with Modric and has received no suggestions that the player wants to leave.

"I don't think that it will be a problem keeping him here," Redknapp added ahead of tomorrow's Barclays Premier League game against Bolton.

"I don't know what his contract situation is at the club but I'm sure he's happy here. He's a fantastic player and I want to keep my best players."

Aaron Lennon looks set to make his first start since December after he came through training without suffering any setback to his recovery from a groin injury.

Redknapp confirmed that Ledley King is also available, but he could be rested ahead of Wednesday's crunch match against Manchester City.

With rivals Aston Villa and City facing each other at Eastlands tomorrow, Spurs could find themselves two points clear of the chasing pack tomorrow night.

Spurs travel to Eastlands on Wednesday in what has been billed as the decider for the fourth Champions League place.

Redknapp insists that he is not looking past tomorrow's game though, which he predicts will be a tough encounter.

"It's no good looking to the Manchester City match next week, tomorrow is the key," said the former Portsmouth boss.

"If we don't win tomorrow, the Man City match maybe won't matter so much. If Villa win at City, that puts them in a strong position, then City would be struggling. It's what happens tomorrow that's important.

"Then we'll look at results and see what we need from there. Until after Bolton, nobody can be sure.

"We know it will be a difficult game. Owen Coyle has done a great job at Bolton.

"He's pulled them out from a relegation struggle and it will be a tough game. We won't underestimate them, they'll give it everything."

Having taken Spurs from the brink of relegation to possible Champions League qualification within 18 months, Redknapp admits failing to achieve fourth place would not be a disaster, however.

"We don't need fourth place to have had successful season," said the 63-year-old.

"We have come a long way and have done ever so well. It's a big week for us now and we'll give our best to see where it takes us.

"Fourth would be nice. It would be a great way to finish the season."

Redknapp je itekako poznati "wheeler and dealer."  To stoji.  Znam da (itekako) cijeni Modrica.  Ali isto znam da voli transferirati igrace.  Sve ima svoju cijenu.
