The 2011 UEFA Champions League Final will be the final match of the 2010–11 UEFA Champions League the 56th season of the UEFA Champions League football tournament, and the 19th in the Champions League era. The match will be played on 28 May 2011 at Wembley Stadium in London, England,[1] which will be hosting its first European Cup final (although five were held at the old Wembley Stadium, in 1963, 1968, 1971, 1978 and 1992).[2]
The match will be contested by Barcelona of Spain and Manchester United for the second time in three years. Barcelona defeated rivals Real Madrid 3–1 on aggregate in the semi-finals to make it through, while Manchester United qualified after a 6–1 aggregate win over Schalke 04.
The winners will play against the winners of the 2011 UEFA Europa League Final in the 2011 UEFA Super Cup in Monaco in August 2011, and also enter the semi-finals of the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup in December of that year.
