Wayne Rooney would like to extend his United contract - insisting he never wants to leave the club and hopes he can win every major honour at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old striker has a deal until 2010 but, having won his first trophy last season in the Carling Cup, Rooney plans to win more trophies with the Reds.

"People say I could now have my pick of clubs but this is where I want to be," he told the Sunday Mirror. "I want to extend my contract. I don't want to go anywhere else. I look at people like Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs and I want to be here as long as they have. This is a big club and no-one I know ever wants to leave."

Rooney is targeting a clean sweep of domestic, European and international trophies.

"I want to win everything - the Premiership, the Champions League and, yes also, the World Cup," he said. "It might not happen, but that's what my aim is. That's the reason I'm in football."

Since his arrival at Old Trafford from Everton at the start of the 2004/05 season, Chelsea have twice won the Premiership title, while United have been limited to a solitary Carling Cup success. However, Rooney has had no second thoughts about his £27million move.
