Owen Hargreaves is continuing to ask Bayern Munich for permission to speak to Manchester United despite being told he will not be sold, Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness has revealed.

Hoeness has insisted on a number of occasions that United's approaches for the England international will be rebuffed, and has now warned Hargreaves he must end his campaign to leave and focus on his responsibilities to the German champions.

"He would be well-advised to keep quiet, otherwise I really will get mad and that will not be pleasant for him," Hoeness told reporters.

"I cannot understand why, after two discussions, he keeps coming back to me.

"There is no chance whatsoever that we will let him go and he has got to learn to accept the decisions taken by those above him.

"That also comes down to respect."

Hoeness has also told United to end their interest in signing Hargreaves, insisting that Bayern will not relinquish their young talent.

"We want to build a new, young team and we are not going to sell people like Hargreaves," Hoeness added in the Bild am Sonntag.

"Bayern Munich will never be taken for a ride by big clubs and become weak at the knees as soon as a certain level of money is mentioned.

"If you gain that sort of reputation, then it is all over for you."

Accepting an offer from United would "go against our current policies," Hoeness added.

Hargreaves was left out of Bayern's squad for Sunday's 2-1 win over Bochum with the club claiming the midfielder is suffering from the flu.

He has also been omitted from the squad that will travel to Barcelona to face the Spanish champions in a friendly match on Tuesday.

"He came to me and said he had a touch of flu and I didn't want to take any risks, so I took him out of the squad," said Bayern coach Felix Magath.

"Fortunately, I have options to replace any player with somebody of equal value."

Brazilian defender Lucio has also been laid low by flu and will not travel to Barcelona.
