Croatia won its first game in football tournament of the Games. The
final result was 2-1 against Romania. The two Croatian goals scored at
the first half of the game by Erceg (13’) and Sorsa (39’). Romania with
successful penalty kick by Georghe made the 2-1 (53’).

Ivan Grinja (Croatia head coach): We played very well at the first
half, but after 2-0 my players were not so good. After Romania scored
we were not so concentrated, but the bottom line is the win. I am happy
only with the final score, not from our performance. We hope against
Turkey will play better.
Florin Dragic (Romania assistant coach): Croatia’s two goals were our
mistakes in defense. At the second half we played much better, we
scored a goal, we tried to score one more but we were not so lucky.
