DRAZEN LADIC (Croatia chief coach)

“We have basically a young squad made up of Under-21s, so we are slightly younger and less experienced than the rest of our opponents. Seven of our players were involved in the Croatian FA Cup final between Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split but we expect them to arrive tomorrow in time to watch the match against Australia. Australia is a good team and they have qualified for the Olympics, whereas we are preparing to play two European Under-21 championship qualifying matches in September. A lot of our players are becoming marketable in Europe and we are very proud of our work. Despite the economic situation of Croatian clubs, the talent being produced is good for our country. Personally, I look forward to a good tournament for Croatia so that I can get the chance to play some golf.”
