MONACO KRANJCAR BID REJECTED

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp's revealed the club recently turned down a bid from AS Monaco for Niko Kranjcar.

The Quay understands the Croatian was the subject of a £12 million bid from the French side.

However, speaking ahead of tonight's opening pre-season game against Exeter, Redknapp told local reporters the bid was instantly turned down and that Kranjcar wanted to remain at Fratton Park.

Meanwhile Pompey are preparing in the West Country for that game this evening.

Redknapp says the players are in good shape.

Monaco je Portsmouthu ponudio 12 milijuna funti za hrvatskog reprezentativca Niku Kranjčara, no osvajač FA kupa odbio je rekordnu ponudu u povijesti kluba.

Prema pisanju lokalnog dnevnika iz Portsmoutha, niti klub, niti hrvatski nogometaš nisu pokazali interes za prihvaćanje ponude.

- Monaco je ponudio 12 milijuna funti, no mi ga ne želimo prodati, niti on želi otići od nas. To bi bio kraj te priče - potvrdio je interes francuskog kluba trener Portsmoutha Harry Redknapp i dodao:

- Nemam namjere nikoga uvrijediti, no zašto bi Niko želio otići tamo? Pa njih gleda 6000 ljudi. Tamo publika odlazi na tribine obučena kao da idu na večeru, a nogomet žive samo subotom navečer. Niko je sjajan mladi igrač. Mi nikoga ne moramo pustiti da ode iz kluba, a sigurno je da to niti ne želimo. Nikamo on ne ide. Želja mi je napraviti dobru momčad, a prodajom najboljih to sigurno neću uspjeti - bio je odrješit Redknapp.

godisnji budzet monaca je 40 milijuna eura, odnosno ekvivalentan budzetu od 60 milijuna eura jerbo su tax free zona...

mislim da nema sanse da monaco potrosi trecinu budzeta na jednog igraca, koji je uza sve non-eu igrac, a nije klasa drogbe, shevchenka ili juninha....

U Francuskoj se Hrvati tretiraju kao EU-igraci tako da to nije problem.

whatever, nema sanse za taj transfer...ne daje monaco samo tako 2o milja eura za igraca koji ipak nije first class tipa juninho ili tako nesto...

da ti ilustriram malo....samo su za nondu dali vise od 10 milja eura...a on je tad bio najbolji strijelac lige, oni su igrali ligu prvaka i imali su strasne prihode...

Kranjcar: Monaco bid rejected

Harry Redknapp has revealed Portsmouth have rejected a bid of £12million from Monaco for midfielder Niko Kranjcar.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Fratton Park since the end of last season, with Arsenal and Roma also reported to be interested in the Croatian.

But Redknapp has no intention of selling his star men as he prepares to lead Pompey into Europe after their FA Cup success last term.

He told The News: "Monaco have come in for Niko and offered around £12million for him. We wouldn't sell him and he didn't want to go anyway so that was the end of that one.

"No disrespect, but why would he want to go there anyway? They get 6,000 people watching them.

"You go there on a weekend and it's a unique experience, people aren't interested in the football. They all go out on the Saturday night and get dressed up for dinner, not to watch football."

Redknapp also denied reports Sulley Muntari is attracting interest from Juventus, branding them "just paper talk" and adding: "I don't want to sell Sulley anyway."
