Imaju Pompey vise novaca nego sto se misli (pogotovo u nasu mediju), ali naravno nisu spremni bacati kao neki premierligasi.  Ali daleko od toga da su skrti.  Utaka, Muntari, Diarra i Defoe su samo neki od zadnji pojacanje i koji nisu dosli jeftini.  I vjeruj da ce biti pojacanje na ljeto, pogotovo kada bi izborili Europu.  Prema dosta izvore Crouch bi trebao bit jedan od tih.  Crouch i Defoe bi zaista bilo odlican tandem.

Alexandre Gaydamak doesn't do interviews - in fact, they're about as scarce as a Pompey day out at Wembley Stadium.

In stark contrast to his predecessor as owner, Milan Mandaric, who made himself available 24/7, Gaydamak shuns the limelight.

But in an interview alongside Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie, Gaydamak has talked openly about his ownership of a club which stands just one game away from competing in this year's FA Cup Final.

Gaydamak's enthusiasm for his club is unwavering.

On the key issues of ownership and Pompey's future, he says: "I have not sold the club and I have not actively sought to find a buyer.

"I'm in this for the long haul. What has been achieved is just the start.

"We are working towards the start of building a new training ground and stadium, and I can assure you that unless someone suddenly came and offered me an obscene amount of money I have no plans to sell up any day soon.

"I take speculation about the possible sale of Portsmouth as a compliment.

We must be doing something right.

"Let's face it - there are only 20 Premier League clubs and there are a lot of people who want to buy into that.

Unfortunately they will not meet with much success trying to buy this club."

Those words are reiterated by Storrie, who says: "Such speculation about the sale of the club is just that.

Our plans are long term, and we are looking to progress on and off the field.

Work on the new training ground is due to start in the summer and plans to relocate to a new 36,000-capacity stadium are well in advance."

The phenomenal success story that has seen Pompey established as a top-10 Premier League club has only been enhanced by the club's success in this season's FA Cup.

"Naturally I am delighted that we are playing for a place in the Cup Final, and on a personal note, right or wrong, it is a feeling of vindication," says Gaydamak.

"There were many people who claimed we had invested in a team of pensioners who would take us absolutely nowhere.

"To play at Wembley is a dream I never realistically expected to fulfil so soon.

Of course I'm emotional. Who wouldn't be?

But I could do with getting the game out of the way because I think I'm getting on my wife's nerves talking about it every day."

Gaydamak credits a lot of the success to manager Harry Redknapp and for the first time admits that he feared the Pompey boss would leave the club and join Newcastle earlier in the season.

"Harry is priceless," says the owner.

"The players that come to this club and perform on the pitch do so because of the manager.

"But I was powerless to stop him going to Newcastle.

"I was on the phone to him non-stop when they made an official approach for him but if you are asking me to be honest about it, I genuinely feared he was leaving."

Portsmouth are looking to expand into Europe - by buying into a top Belgian side.

Pompey officials were spotted in Belgium last week and they are believed to be speaking to two clubs who would like an English partner, says the Mirror.

The plan is to send top young talent from around the world to Belgium and give them senior football - while getting round work permit restrictions in the UK.

There is better news with Niko Kranjcar, who bruised a shin late on against Wigan following a challenge from Josip Skoko.

The cultured Croat was able to take part in a recovery session at training yesterday and will be fine for Wembley.
