Gambia's Lamin Samateh has agreed to sign the dotted lines making him officially a player of KuPS, Foroyaa Sport can report. The defender is contracted having impress the club coach on trial -an audition that lasted less than a week after he left Croatian club Lokomotiva Zagreb in unclear circumstances. The 21-year-old is added to KuPS current squad roster, the club confirms, which sees a soar in the number of Gambian players to three at the Finnish giants.
Erstwhile Steve Biko stopper, Samateh, is tipped to coalesce with Omar Colley at defence with Ebrima Sohna operating as a defensive midfielder -all countrymen of his in the same club.
A delighted Lamin Samateh handed his debut in the Finnish Cup fifth round drubbing of JK Toolo -with Ebrima Sohna an unlikely scorer in the duel - prior to the duel, he told the club: "Each exercise I get better and better in the new team. All the players are good and very friendly. I am very happy here."
