Serbia threw Group B of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship wide open after Milan Milanović's double strike secured victory over Spain in wet conditions in Mariupol.

Luis Milla's team took an early lead with Joselu striking for the second time in as many games, but Serbia turned things around when Milanović tapped home in the 36th minute before he headed his team into the lead not long after the break. The result means that all four teams in the group can still qualify for the semi-finals ahead of the final round of games on Monday.

Joselu strike
Spain started strongly and only a last-ditch challenge prevented Jordi Pablo's inswinging free-kick from forcing Serbia goalkeeper Aleksandar Kirovski into action. From the ensuing corner, though, Luis Milla's side did forge ahead on six minutes. Jordi played the set-piece short to Falqué, whose cross to the far post was hooked back in by Pulido and after Oriol directed a downward header against the inside of the post, Joselu turned in the rebound.

Goalkeeping error
Serbia responded with Nemanja Milić firing straight at David De Gea from the edge of the area, while at the other end Fran Mérida's low effort bobbled up and struck Kirovski in the face. Kirovski was soon in action again, denying the same player with his legs. The goalkeeper then thwarted Mérida for a third time just past the half-hour mark, before Serbia profited from a mistake by his opposite number with nine minutes of the half remaining. Adem Ljajić's right-footed free-kick was spilled by De Gea at the feet of Milanović, allowing the defender to gratefully slot the ball in from a matter of metres.

Aleksandar Stanojević’s team continued to foray forward after the restart and Ljajić went close with a shot from the left that hit the side-netting. Lo Roja countered through Oriol, who forced Kirovski to parry a thumping drive shortly afterwards. In the 51st minute, Serbia won a corner on the right hand-side and after an accurate delivery from Ljajić, Milanović ducked to head past De Gea. Spain enjoyed the greater percentage of possession from that point onwards and they were almost gifted an equaliser when substitute Mihajlo Cakić headed Canales' free-kick narrowly past his own upright. Serbia worked hard to protect their lead and there were joyous scenes among the new group leaders at full time. With an encounter against Turkey to come, hopes of a place in the last four are now high.
