Roma set to secure Porto star striker
Roma are reportedly set to secure Porto star striker Jackson Martinez during this summer’s transfer window.
The 27-year-old, whose current contract with the Portuguese club isn’t set to expire until June 2016, has become a main target of several major European clubs including Chelsea and Arsenal, but it seems he’s already made his decision to join the Giallorossi at the end of the season.
According to Leggo, the Colombian international and his representatives have accepted an offer from Roma rumoured to be worth around €28 million, though an official announcement from the Serie A side is yet to be made.
The Lupi were also apparently considering bids for Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic and Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke as alternatives, however, a deal with Martinez would end any pursuit elsewhere.
Jackson Martinez has been with Porto since joining from Chiapas in 2012 and has scored an impressive total of 41 goals in 53 league games for the Portistas thus far.
