Tottenham have reached an agreement with Cardiff to sign defender Chris Gunter in the January transfer window.
The full-back has impressed with his displays for the Championship outfit this season and he will now move to White Hart Lane in the New Year.
Gunter, who has made three appearances for Wales, was linked with a move to Everton in the summer but he has now agreed to join Tottenham after it was revealed last week that the North London club had approached Cardiff.
The fee for Gunter, who will join international team-mate Gareth Bale at Spurs, has not been revealed.
Tottenham have been badly hit by defensive injuries this season and Gunter could be in line to go straight in the Spurs first XI for their first game of 2008 away to Aston Villa.
