Peyton Manning | QB Previous Team: Indianapolis Exp: 14 years
Analysis: The
Dolphins, Jets and Seahawks have done research and had discussions about
acquiring Manning, NFL Network's Albert Breer reported, with Dolphins owner Stephen
Ross convinced his team is a quarterback away from Super Bowl contention. The
Cardinals, Chiefs and Redskins have also been focal
points in speculation over where Manning might be headed.
Randy Moss | WR Previous Team: Tennessee Exp: 13 years
Analysis: Moss worked
out for the Saints on Tuesday, and "looked like the
old Randy" according to FOX Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay
Glazer. NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported Moss has a visit set with
at least one other team next week.
Cortland Finnegan | CB Previous Team: Tennessee Exp: 6 years
Analysis: Finnegan
likely won't return to the Titans, and NFL Network's Jason La Canfora thinks
that the Bears
or Rams make a lot of sense for the cornerback.
Plaxico Burress | WR Previous Team: N.Y. Jets Exp: 10 years
Analysis: Burress is
aggressively shopping his services, not excluding the Jets or Giants as
possibilities, saying that the Eagles are an ideal fit, and telling SiriusXM Blitz that Ben
Roethlisberger is "my favorite quarterback."
Chad Henne | QB Previous Team: Miami Exp: 4 years
Analysis: The Jets are
apparently in the market for a quarterback to push Mark Sanchez, and Henne might be an
option.
Vincent Jackson | WR Previous Team: San Diego Exp: 7 years
Analysis: Despite
desperately wanting to retain Jackson's services, the Chargers decided to not put the franchise tag on the receiver for the
second consecutive year. San Diego hopes to re-sign Jackson but could face some
stiff competition from the Bears, the Chicago Tribune reports. NFL Network's Jason La Canfora could
see a bidding
war between the Bears and Redskins for Jackson's services.
Mario Williams | OLB Previous Team: Houston Exp: 6 years
Analysis: The Texans
opted to not put the franchise tag on Williams -- due to the cost against the
cap -- and hope to get the linebacker signed before free agency starts on
March 13. If Williams hits the market, many teams figure to have interest in the
former No. 1 overall draft pick. NFL Network's Jason La Canfora mentions the
Falcons and Seahawks as possible candidates to acquire Williams. Meanwhile, NFL.com
and NFL Network experts debated possible destinations for Williams with a number of other
teams possibly in the mix: Charley Casserly (Eagles), Charles Davis (Packers),
Jason Smith (Titans).
Matt Flynn | QB Previous Team: Green Bay Exp: 4 years
Analysis: Not
surprisingly, the Packers decided to not apply their franchise tag to Flynn. The
player Flynn has backed up for the previous four seasons -- Aaron Rodgers --
believes that the Dolphins and Seahawks are the best fits for the free-agent
QB. NFL Network's Michael Lombardi and Jason La Canfora also connected the
dots between Flynn and those two aforementioned teams. In addition to Miami
as a possible destination for Flynn, La Canfora also thinks Cleveland could be
tempted by the promising passer.
