I Bradely Chubb također otpušten.

Miami would have a few options with how to handle the salary cap charges. One would be to release him outright once the new league year begins (Tua can not be cut until the start of free agency under any scenario) and take on the full $99.2 million hit. Considering Tua currently counts for $56.4 million on the cap that would create a loss of $42.8 million in cap room for Miami. Miami currently has one of the worst cap situations in the league for 2026 and adding $43 million to that number doesn’t seem reasonable so my guess is this scenario is out.
The second scenario would be to use a post June 1 designation. There are two ways Miami could handle this. The first would be to not exercise his $15 million option in his contract. His cap number would increase by $12 million to $68.4 million until June 2 at which point it would then fall to $67.4 million. While that is a loss of $11 million in cap room for 2026 that is a number far easier to deal with than $43 million. Under this scenario the team would defer $31.8 million in dead money to 2027.
The other way to handle this would be to exercise the option on the first day of the league year and then use the post June 1 designation. His cap number would remain at $56.4 million until June 2 and then drop to $55.4 million. They would then defer $43.8 million to 2027. This would be the most balanced approach.
