Injury roundup
Kevin Kolb, QB, Eagles (concussion). Will his injury pave the way for Michael Vick, who starred in a comeback effort Sunday, cost Kolb his starting job even if healthy? Let the rumors fly.
Matthew Stafford, QB, Lions (shoulder). Detroit missed his big arm in the second half as the offense did little with Shaun Hill at the helm. Whoever plays in Week 2 will see plenty of heat from Philadelphia's D.
Ryan Grant, RB, Packers (ankle). He limped off the field before halftime but was seen back on the bench at the end of the game. Grant tweeted after the game that he'll "be fine." He also told reporters after the game: "I don't expect this to be something that's too major." If Grant can't play next week vs. Buffalo, Brandon Jackson is a good alternative.
Matt Moore, QB, Panthers (concussion). The Jimmy Clausen era might start earlier than expected. Next week against the Bucs is a tough test, considering they just took care of ex-Panther Jake Delhomme.
Bob Sanders, S, Colts (elbow). Here we go again. Sanders didn't last past the first quarter. The Colts' defense played well without him last year, and Melvin Bullitt proved last season he's a fine replacement.
Casey Hampton, NT, Steelers (hamstring). Hampton is an invaluable part of Pittsburgh's 3-4 scheme. Losing him for any time would hurt the team's usually stout run defense.
Max Starks, LT, Steelers (ankle). The pressure is on Jonathan Scott to stand up as the team's blindside pass protector because Starks is expected to miss multiple games.
Stewart Bradley, LB, Eagles (concussion). The Eagles missed the linchpin of their defense when a knee injury kept him out of last season, and they can't afford to lose him again.
Leonard Weaver, FB, Eagles (knee). Philadelphia will miss this versatile blocker/receiver for the rest of the season after he tore his ACL early in Sunday's loss to Green Bay.
Jamaal Jackson, C, Eagles (torn biceps). He's another underrated sturdy starter vital to Philadelphia's blocking scheme.
Robert Gallery, LG, Raiders (hamstring). It will be a big blow for Oakland to lose its best offensive lineman for more than a week or two.
Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Colts (ankle). Having Austin Collie to step in and star as the slot receiver eases the sting if Gonzalez is out again for an extended period.
Connor Barwin, DE, Texans (ankle). Houston has lost a valuable pass-rush specialist for the season. The team might well again try to coax ex-Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel out of retirement.
Paul Posluszny, LB, Bills (knee). He’s another one who can’t swat the injury bug. The latest ailment might keep him out for a while, furthering hampering a thinning Buffalo linebacker corps.
