Da su bar samo njih dvojica.Većina ljudi u Hrvatskoj ni ne prati rukomet, osim 2 tjedna u godini ako i toliko i misli da je Balić otkad su ga izbacili prestar za reprezentaciju. Na drugim portalima je još prošle godine toliko ljudi bilo uvjereno da je "prestar" ili "solira pa sjebe cijelu ekipu", "unosi nemir" i slične nebuloze samo zato što im ona debela svinja tako kaže.

The best scorer (131 goals on 15 matches) and assistant (68) of this season in the Croatian championship, the central back line player Luka Cindric (185 cm, 20 years old), from Karlovac, has been part of Metalurg’s family for a month and already showed that he can be an excellent link in the team. Cindric has perfectly fitted in and showed that he can be of great help to the team after the captain Naumce Mojsovski’s injury.

The main initiator for hiring Cindric was the coach Lino Cervar who through the contacts with his colleagues in Croatia heard a lot of good things about him.

- Since last season, my colleagues from Croatia have been telling me a lot of good things about this boy from Ogulin who has a lot of potential. I called my assistant from the national team who was Cindric’s coach in the youth national team and I asked his opininion and he said this:” Yes, yes, the boy is good, but he is not tall enough. There is something in him, but he is not fit for big things”.

These words became a new challenge for me, because my philosophy is that you do not have to be 200 cm tall to be a good player. You need a character, spirit, passion and willingness for progress and victory. I had never met Luka before December 7 when we had a match in Zagreb. From the conversation we had, I immediately realized that that was exactly what I was thinking. I saw a winner, a fighter in his eyes, one who is willing to become better player and I was sure that he was going to fit well in Metalurg’s mosaic – said Cervar who pointed out that the idea of hiring Cindric had existed even before Mojsovski got injured.

Cindric has played three matches for Metalurg, the friendly match against Veszprem, then in the Regional League against Borac and in the Champions League against PSG. On each of the matches, he showed good play and scored 13 goals out of 14 shots (4/4 with Veszprem, 4/4 with Borac, and 5/6 with PSG).

- It is not my style to praise the players. You can always play better and I always state the mistakes and critiques first, and then I say who played well. Luka showed good play on these three matches. He showed courage, sufficient impertinence, ferocity and he did not have any respect for the opponent. He is not a dominant player which I like, but he collaborates with the team which is a very important characteristic, because the handball is a team sport – stated Cervar.

Cindric himself is very content of his play and his stay in Skopje and Metalurg, and he was surprised and thankful for the responsibility and independence in the game which were ensured by the coach Cervar.

- I have been here for a month, and it feels like I have been part of the team for years. All of them are really friendly, so warm that I do not feel that I am away from home. I also have fitted well in the team’s play, because Cervar trusts me and gave me an opportunity to play freely and to show my talent – says Cindric who was honoured that a world class coach like Cervar was interested in his play and qualities, and that was hired in his team without any control matches.

Metalurg is the right choice when I chose handball instead of football.

Becoming part of Metalurg is a big step in my career. Until a month ago, I watched Hansen, Kopljar, Vori, Karabatic, Rutenka and the others on TV, and now I have the chance to play right next to them. My dream came true. Although I must admit that I was a bit scared about the decision whether to accept the offer of Metalurg. But, now I am sure that I have made the right choice, like many years ago when I chose handball as my future occupation instead of football, says Luka Cindric who considers that his father Drazen (a former handball player) is credited for his handball career and his progress and he also says that his father passed on his love for handball and also the willingness, fighting and winning spirit in his genetic code.
