ATP TOUR _ Greg Shark - pitanja-odgovori... vrlo zanimljivo!
Hi Greg! Cincy was very surprising... When was the last time that Federer and Nadal were both in the draw and none of them got the title? Regards!
- Daniel Melo, São Paulo, Brazil
Great question! Before Cincinnati, the last time that Federer and Nadal were both in the draw and neither won the title was the 2005 Australian Open. Federer lost in the semifinals and Nadal in the fourth round. During that span, one of them captured the title in the last 15 tournaments when they were competing together.
Hi Shark! Mark Philippoussis won in Newport this year with a ATP-ranking of 214. Is he the lowest ranked player who ever won an ATP-tournament?
- Tim Boeseler, Hamburg, Germany
The lowest-ranked player to win an ATP title is Lleyton Hewitt, who won Adelaide in January 1998 at No. 550.
Who is the youngest number 1?
- Victor Olalla, Spain
Chalk up another one for Lleyton! Of the 23 players who have ranked No. 1 in the history of the INDESIT ATP Rankings (since August 1973), Lleyton Hewitt is the youngest player to rank No. 1, at 20 years, 8 months, on Nov. 19, 2001.
