BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - Just before heading up north for the summer hardcourt season, Gisela Dulko had what she described as her "magical dream day" back home in Buenos Aires - her wedding to Fernando Gago.
Having been together for two and a half years, the pair had their civil wedding with family and close friends on Wednesday, July 27 and the official church ceremony and celebration on Friday, July 29. A slew of ATP and WTA stars attended the celebration, including her loyal friend and doubles partner Flavia Pennetta, David Nalbandian, Juan Mónaco and Mariano Zabaleta.
"It was like a magical dream day," the 26-year-old Buenos Aires native declared. "It was a fantastic celebration and we had a really good time."
Gago, also from Argentina, is a professional soccer player who plays defensive midfielder with Real Madrid. He has played for them since 2007.
Dulko is South America's No.1 in player in both singles and doubles - in fact she is her continent's only Top 150 player in either discipline (No.52 in singles, No.4 in doubles). She has four WTA titles in singles (including one this year at Acapulco) and 16 WTA titles in doubles (including her first Grand Slam title earlier this year at the Australian Open, alongside Pennetta).
