Chael Sonnen Exclusive: UFC Champion Jon Jones Is a Delusional Brat

Although the official record book still reads "Jon Jones," Chael Sonnen feels like the light heavyweight division has a new kingpin. Jones turned down a fight with the former middleweight contender, making Sonnen, in his mind, the top fighter in the weight class.

"When I decided to go after the light heavyweight championship, I knew that I'd win it like I always do," Sonnen told Bleacher Report in an exclusive interview. "I just didn't know it would be by forfeit. But I do stand before you today the light heavyweight champion."

Anderson Silva was close to saving UFC 151.

According to UFC president Dana White, Silva relayed a message through his manager Ed Soares just moments after White announced on Thursday that UFC 151 was canceled after Jon Jones turned down a fight against Chael Sonnen. The middleweight champion, who admitted he wasn't in the best shape, volunteered to fight on eight days' notice in Las Vegas against another light heavyweight fighter. Unfortunately, he was a few hours late as the promotion had already decided to scrap the event.

White said he never expected Silva to offer his services and appreciated the offer.

Jones will now meet Vitor Belfort for the light heavyweight title on Sept. 22 in Toronto after Lyoto Machida turned down the fight due to not having enough time to train.

Jamey De Santo Well Jon,you were one of my favorite fighters, but to turn down a fight when you've had a training camp and Sonnen didn't and HE would take the fight? And you knew by doing that 20 other guys who aren't bringing in 6 figures a fight wouldn't be able to bring in a paycheck either? That self centered man. Your better than that.

Michael Siervo I admired you as a fighter and a man. I was a huge fan but have zero interest in someone whoforgot the spirit of the UFC. Gracie fought multiple fighter in a single day and never thought of himself first. This is a sport about skill no hand picking your fights. You might as well hang with Floyd Mayweather. Keep your shirts. I'm sure you'll have plenty left over.

Nick Saucedo Used to be a huge fan. But when the champ refuses to defend his belt and cancels an entire PPV which lets down fans, and fighters on the card - that just doesn't seem like champion material. You fight good but not a champ in my book. Chael is down to fight you right away and he hasn't been training to fight you either he's just confident in his skills. What does that say about him and about you.

Rousey mystified by Jones decision

Sonnen had offered to step in for the injured Dan Henderson in the light-heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas next Saturday, but Jones rejected, causing the first cancellation of an entire card in the UFC in 11 years.

Rousey, who says she classes herself as a friend of Jon Jones, was mystified by the decision. She told ESPN: "Mostly, I'd be more bummed with my coach, if I had that situation come up and my coach said anything else other than 'you're the world champion, you could beat anyone, anytime. Go do it', I would think 'why doesn't my coach have any confidence in me?' I don't know what Jon Jones' reasoning is, but I'd have made a different decision."

"I don't have any kids to provide for, if I come home with a bruised up face and a loss all I have to worry about is my own pride and my cable bill," she added. "When I was first starting out, when I really needed the money, the main event fell through and the whole event was cancelled and I know how that feels. I wouldn't want to do that to anybody else."

Rousey admitted that had she been aware the card was going to be cancelled she would have told UFC president Dana White that she wanted to fight instead.

"If Dana said he wanted me to fight Chris 'Cyborg' Santos with a 40lbs weight disadvantage or wrap our hands with Duck Tape and be there in 40 minutes, I'd say I'd be there in 10 minutes just so I could stretch first. It doesn't matter to me, I consider myself the best in the world. I think if you have that title, you have a responsibility to defend it at anytime against anyone."

Inace Chael je znao da se Hendo ozljedio i 3 tjedna se priprema za Jonesa, vidi se to i po tweeter ratu kojega je zapoceo "iz cista mira".
da je bilo koji drugi borac bilo bi mi zao sto je Jones odbio, ali ovo je jasna poruka da Chael ne moze dobiti i drugu(!) borbu za titulu samo zato jer je trash talker.
Veci krivci su Hendo i UFC, ako uopce mora biti krivaca jer ovakve stvari se dogadjaju.
Zasto nisu stavili Silvu koji se ponudio protiv nekog LHW, ne vjerujem da su morali cijeli event otkazati, ali opet valjda oni znaju bolje od mene.
