When news broke that Ersan Ilyasova had been traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Atlanta Hawks one of the quiet winners of the trade was Dario Saric.
Ever since Saric made his NBA debut in October of 2016, the rookie has improved his game and become a fan favorite. Not to mention he has great chemistry with teammates like Joel Embiid and T.J. McConnell (#TrusttheFriendship).
With the logjam at the forward position Saric has battled to get consistent minutes on the court. Now, with Ilyasova out of town, Saric should find himself getting more minutes. Perhaps he should even get a shot as a starter.
“This trade could be good for me, more minutes possibly, he (Ilyasova), was a good friend but for my basketball game it’s a good thing,” said Saric on the 97.5 The Fanatic morning show.
Perhaps even without the trade Saric should have been getting more minutes compared to Ilyasova.
Saric’s game has been getting better throughout the year. He has made noticeable improvements on both the defensive and offensive side of the court.
