The Euroleague Basketball Assembly decided to modify the criteria by which the 24 teams are placed into eight levels before the draw. The new system is based on, firstly, all teams that played the previous edition of the Euroleague being seeded according to the final standings they obtained in the competition. Next, any new teams that played in the ULEB Cup last season will be placed, again according to their final standings, beginning with the champion of that competition. The remaining levels will be filled by teams that played in neither ULEB competition the previous season. In the near future, Euroleague Basketball will publish the list of eight levels with three teams in each that will be used at the draw in Athens.
