LaMarcus Aldridge wants an Olympic invite

Colangelo has reached out to several players, but there is one player who would love to be considered who hasn't received a call as of yet.

The Portland Trail Blazers' forward LaMarcus Aldridge.

“It would be an honor to play for my country this summer if I was asked to,” Aldridge told CSNNW.com. “I would do it in a heartbeat. Hopefully I get a call.”

With Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Dwight Howard, and Kobe Bryant set to join the team this summer, USA basketball will be the favorites going in. Aldridge says he'd be thrilled just going through the process.

“I would love to just tryout for the team,” Aldridge said. “It's the ultimate goal to represent your country and if I had the privilege, it would be humbling.”

Aldridge's game is suited for international play. He's versatile enough to where he can guard a big out on the perimeter and he can hold his own against players like Memphis' Marc Gasol.

Minnesota's Kevin Love, Los Angeles' Blake Griffin, and New York's Tyson Chandler are expected to receive strong consideration for their services this summer.

I asked Aldridge why he thinks those frontcourt players are being targeted and not himself.

“Those guys have the big names,”Aldridge said. “If we keep winning here in Portland, hopefully I'll get recognized, but that's out of my control. I would just want an opportunity to prove that I could help the team out. That's all.”

The chances Aldridge receives an invitation to tryout by the 18^th are slim and Aldridge knows it. Colangelo has been prepping for this summer for sometime now and he has feel for the guys he's looking to bring in.

If anything, hopefully Colangelo hears about a pretty good big man in Portland who's all in if given a ring.

“I would be ready. Just need a call,” Aldridge said.

dok je on bio u igri, rezultatski je momčad ''izgubila'' 3 razlike

cuo sam i neke price kako bi trebali trejdat westbrooka za ronda, jer trosi lopte previse...

ja se bas i ne slazem. rondo bi vjerojatno donio vise asista ali manje koseva. a ko ce ti onda zabijat po 30 osim duranta... uostalom premlad je westbrook za rijesavat ga se olako. nek se za godinu dvije westbrook popravi, durant dobije koje kilo... pa ko ce to zaustavit...

ma ja mislim da rondo može i zabijati kada trener od njega traži da troši više lopti, ali Doc više forsira da igra za momčad jer sa poludistance imaš KG, Piercea i Allena koji zabijaju bez problema, a tricu pucaju i Pierce i Allen... iskreno da sam Danny Ainge ja nikad ne bi dao ronda za westbrooka..

pa dobro, u principu isto mislim samo se meni cini da vrijedi i u drugom smjeru. cemu generalno mjenjat takve igrace kad ne ispadne neka razlika... ajd da ti ovaj drugi bas savrseno pase, pa da ti to dize cijelu ekipu.

ali ovako ti u biti dodje na isto, jer gradis buducnost oko vrhunskog talenta(koji ce ispast bolji igrac dugorocno ionako samo vrijeme moze pokazat), samo razlicitih karakteristika, pa sukladno tome drukcije gradis ekipu...
