Ludogorets Arena is the official stadium of Ludogorets. The facility, built in the middle of the 50’s of the last century, was reconstructed in the summer of 2011, and is currently being in conformity with all requirements for hosting Bulgaria’s First Division matches. According to the investors’ ambitions, it will be soon corresponding to UEFA’s class 4 standards.

The repairs of Ludogorets Arena started along with the renaissance of the Ludogorets football club. Facility’s renovation was initiated in the beginning of 2011, although serious investments were effected right after the end of season 2010/2011. A day after Ludogorets held the champion’s cup of the Eastern Second Division, the heavy machines attacked the installation, and just several days after the field was excavated to a depth of 3 meters. Right after, a drainage, a heating and a draining system were installed. In the middle of August 2011, Ontario company started installing the grass surface. “The surface provides elasticity and dynamics, and it is resistant to multiple trainings and competitions. The strong protecting layer will cause less contusions to the players.”, explained the company manager Hristo Todorov. Provided that the surface is being properly exploited, he gives a 10 to 12-year guarantee.

ALONG WITH BUILDING THE NEW FIELD, RENOVATION OF THE STANDS WAS INITIATED. An entirely new sector in the Southern part of the stadium was constructed. It’s the new place of Ludogorets’s ultras. New sector’s capacity is 700 places, part of which are for standing. Visiting team’s fans sector was also expanded, its capacity being currently about 1000 people.

In the summer of 2011, the grand stand was for the first time provided with roof, covering the VIP zone as well. Seats for Ludogorets Arena official guests and media are now approximately 100.

Grand stand was also provided with excellent conditions for the spectators. A specific trait of Ludogorets Arena is that from every spot of the stadium there’s an excellent visibility to the football field. The installation gives an impression of a classic arena, where spectators are as close as possible to the players, though, they’re separated from them not by means of fences, but a safety height.

Another extra for the spectators are the modern sanitary units. Now there’s bathroom and possibility to freshen-up for every 150 people.

The checkpoint system of Ludogorets Arena is of very high quality as well. The most visited sector – 3 (B), has two entrances, same as the grand stand, which could be accessed through sectors 1 (A) and 2 (?). Fans in sector 5 (?) have a separate entrance, same as the visiting team’s fans. The access for that one gives a possibility for a solid buffer zone to be constructed, so that there would be no contact between the two teams’ fans.



A huge merit of Ludogorets Arena is that it can be evacuated in 3 minutes. Besides the entrances and exits of the stadium to the field, there’s a sufficient number of emergency gates, allowing the audience to evacuate on the field in case of natural cataclysm or disaster, the field being considered as the most safe place in such situations.

LUDOGORETS ARENA is provided with modern video supervision, enhancing spectators’ security. Cameras are set in a way that even the smallest forms of vandalism and hooligan behavior at the stands could be caught out. These digital eyes are capable of catching not only throwing of objects, but also attempts to enter the stadium by means of fake passes. There’s already an effective system elaborated for collaboration with police, and there were public order violators caught and sentenced at the very inauguration of the stadium. In future attempts to enter the stadium, these will be identified by the video supervision.



Another new equipment of Ludogorets Arena is the modern center, where the electronic scoreboard and the sound system are controlled. There’s no other electronic scoreboard alike in Bulgaria. It disposes with excellent capacities of showing also video materials, including live broadcast of the match being played at the moment.

Ludogorets Arena has also three parking lots, one being only for media representatives. Equipped conference hall and high-speed internet at the stadium provide additional conveniences for the media.

The rehabilitation center is another quality addition of Ludogorets Arena. There’s sauna, hot tub, pool and massaging rooms in it, utilized by the representing team of Ludogorets. During the championship winter break, Ludogorets Arena should be provided with a modern lighting as well.
