An archetypal defensive midfielder, Milan Smiljanić is a man who
thrives on responsibility, wearing the captain’s armband at club and
international level.

against FK Crvena Zvezda after being made FK Partizan captain in 2006,
only to lose the next three derbies.
• Played 31 league games for runners-up Partizan in 2006/07 and was ever-present in qualifying, scoring against Lithuania.
• Has scored just one Superliga goal in almost 50 appearances, against FK Buducnost Podgorica in December 2005.
