"Herr Pep" is the new book by Martí Perarnau, that has spent a hole season following the steps of the catalan manager from the inside, having access to Bayern's dressing-room, staff, training sessions, etc. These are 10 things you didn't know about Pep's year at Bayern (and there are many more at the book!)
1. Guardiola's reaction after losing against Real Madrid at the Champions League

Bayern Munich lost 4-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinal... That was in the second leg. In the first one Bayern only lost 1-0. Then is why Guardiola decided to 'play with the heart' convinced by their players. After the result, he admitted they had f***ed it up.
2. His favourite players
Martí Perarnau explains that Thiago Alcantara has stolen Guardiola's heart. Lahm is his 'Xavi or Iniesta', because is the only one who understands him. He has also a special relationship with Robben and Neuer.
3. Toni Kroos left a message to Pep

Toni Kroos and Guardiola have a great relationship. Bayern's manager wanted him to continue at the club, but sometimes "there are things that don't depend on the manager", says Perarnau. Kroos left a note to Pep when he left to Madrid.
4. Guardiola's reaction after reaching the Champions League semifinals
Perarnau says Guardiola is never satisfied. Bayern won by 3-1 against Manchester United in the CL quarterfinals. After the final whistle, Guardiola phoned his assistants and told them to meet him at the dressing room. Then he asked the counterattack systems of the 3 possible rivals they could face on the semifinals. This man never stops working!
5. Guardiola's reaction to Tito Vilanova's death
"Guardiola suffered a lot, he had a hard time", says Perarnau. The author also explains that Barça year of misery and the change of president weren't easy situations to deal for Pep Guardiola.
6. When Thiago gets injured

That was very bad news for GUardiola. That night, Lorenzo Buenaventura and Javi Martínez visited Thiago at his home to cheer him up.
7. Guardiola finally has a day off
Bayern won his match on Sunday. So no training on Monday.... but on Sunday night Guardiola couldn't sleep... and he found the perfect way to attack their next opponent. He decided to attack with 3 in the back and a long winger.
So Guardiola called straight away Manel Estiarte and his staff. Monday morning, 8.30, Bayern's Sports City. A day off? They spent the whole day changing the training sessions they had prepared for Tuesday.
8. Guardiola's reaction after a bad training session
It was a very special training session. Guardiola had been preparing it for two days, but the players weren't doing what he demanded.
Meeting between Lorenzo Buenaventura, Domenech Torrent, Manel Estiarte and him. Guardiola shouts in catalan, really angry. Mathias Sammer, sports director of Bayern Munich, joins the group and says that Guardiola is right in everything. Then everybody turns at him: "Sammer, you don't speak catalan! You can't understand what he is saying!"
9. Languages at Bayern
Guardiola's German skills are pretty good. The catalan speaks to his squad in 5 languages. German to give instructions, english when he needs to talk individually, Spanish with Javi Martinez and some staff, Catalan for Bernat and the other part of the staff... and, well, this one is hard to describe. Frank Ribéry speaks a mix of french (pretty bad), italian and German.
10. Guardiola and Buenaventura's exercices
At this point you already know. Pep works a lot. He could have some time to rest when Lorenzo Buenaventura prepares the physical exercises... but when Lorenzo is directing the session, Guardiola joins him shouting and motivating his players. This man never rests.
