Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Mba may finally join the train to Europe to continue his football development as Dynamo Zagrab steps up move to sign him.
The Croatian side were one of the top sides jostling for the player’s signature after he dazzled at the last Africa Nations Cup in South Africa, but the club were deterred by the tussle that broke out between two Nigerian clubs, Warri Wolves and Enugu Rangers over the ownership of the midfielder.
But according to a staff of OSE Sports Management Agency, Mike Osondu, Dynamo have moved to revive the deal.
The agency is representing the former Dolphin player and its official disclosed to Newswatch Sports that the Croatian club are one of the three other clubs who have indicated interest once again in signing the midfielder.
An official of Enugu Rangers said last week that Mba was not one of the club’s players who were moving abroad during the summer transfer window in Europe, but Osondu said a move abroad for Mba is still very much on the card.
“It is not true that a move to Europe for Sunday Mba has been foreclosed. Whoever told you that is been economical with the truth or does not know what is happening about the player.
How can you expect that kind of talent not to explore opportunity where he can develop his football very well?
“As I am talking to you, one of the clubs that showed interest in the past have returned to ask for him. Dynamos Zagreb were very interested the last time, but the problem between Rangers and Wolves affected a lot of things. Now they have come back and I think two other clubs have also come but I can confirm only Zagreb,” he said.
Mba was in the home-based Super Eagles team that took on their Ivorian counterparts in a Africa Nations Championship qualifier yesterday in Kaduna. He is also made the cut in the Eagles’ team that had a busy schedule last month, which took them crisscrossing continents for a friendly, world cup qualifiers and FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.
