Marco Pasalic is a left-footed winger, who has great acceleration and is agile due to his low centre of gravity.
He is currently used as a right wing back in a back-5, but is more suitable as a right winger in front of an overlapping full-back. Then he could make better use of his signature move, which is to cut inside to shoot or pass.
Pasalic has good technique, and great dribbling qualities. Since he is quite press resistant, he is good in tight spaces. His shooting is already quite a threat, even though he's very one-footed. Despite performing almost all actions with his left foot, his link-up play is solid, and he regularly shows off his flair.
While being a superb player on the ball, he isn't the greatest without it. Pasalic prefers receiving the ball to his left foot to cut inside and avoids running in behind. His decision-making also needs improvement to be able to better contribute to his creativity.
His greatest weakness is his defensive behavior. Both his defensive positioning and defending 1vs1 are insufficient. His lack of aggressiveness doesn't make him suitable to a high (counter-)pressing team, too.
