Liege, Arabi Fight Over Ezekiel
Former Belgian Jupiler League sensation, Imoh Ezekiel could be on his way back to starring in the same competition with Standard Liege, as the club’s president, Roland Duchatelet is reportedly keen on having the youngster rejoin the club.

Duchatelet is still relishing fond memories of Ezekiel’s surging performances with the club during his previous spell at the Liege-based side, but he will have to ward off similar interest from Al Arabi of Qatar club president, Sheikh Hitmi Bin Ali Al Hitmi.

The interests of both football aristocrats are now running at loggerheads, as Al Hitmi is opposed to the idea of letting Ezekiel return to Liege, who sold him to Al-Arabi in the summer of 2014 for L6m after rejecting a L5m bid from Hertha Berlin of Germany.

Unfortunately, Ezekiel is not enjoying his football in Qatar, despite his high wage and six goals in 14 games, believing he has missed the competitive edge that abounds in the various leagues of Europe.

Duchatelet is now flying a kite that Imoh wants to quit Qatar due to the low level of competition this month, but observers believe the one-cap Super Eagles star is also drawing interest from Club Brugge and Anderlecht, as well as teams in France and Italy.

"We want Ezekiel, he is the type of striker we do not have at the moment but the problem is the Sheikh (President of Al-Arabi)," Duchatelet told Het Nieuwsblad.

"We are his only option, It's either he comes to us or he will stay at Al-Arabi, the Sheikh is yet to reply to our request but we are confident on his deal."
