"upoznavanje" Rijeke u članku na njihovim stranicama, spominje se i Pula 😅
"There is no doubt however, that the Croatian team are a formidable bunch.
They won last year’s Croatian League. In European competition they have defeated the likes of AC Milan, Standard Liege and Feyenoord.
There are few places in Europe that have had a more topsy-turvy political century than the Balkans and this is more than reflected in the story of HNK Rijeka. They’ve been Austrian-Hungarian, Italian, Yugoslavian and Croatian, not to talk about the dreadful experiences of WWI and WWII.
Rijeka like many of the big centres of population is a coastal city and unsurprisingly the ‘ultras’ are called the ‘Armada’ and hopefully the Reds will keep them anchored when they venture near Ringsend. The Rujevica stadium has capacity of just over 8,000.
Fans who like some culture in their football lives might like to know that some kilometres up the motorway from Rijeka is the town of Pula where our own James Joyce lived for a year at the start of the 20th century. He was a bit of a misery guts at the time. He had very little positive to say about Pula, but he lived there long enough to buy himself a new suit and grow a moustache. Presumably the Shels fans won’t be in Rijeka long enough to do either of these things.
However there is plenty to do in the port city.
It was nominated European City of Culture in 2020 along with Galway. The city’s known as the ‘Port of Diversity’ due to its variety of programmes and events. For the Shels music lovers, local band Paraf played the first punk gig in Eastern Europe in Rijeka in 1977. Electronica and techno clubs are popular.
Food and drink is exactly what Irish people would expect on the Croatian coast; delicious seafood, juicy steaks and quality wines that you’d come back for.
All the facilities are accessible by foot."
ps
vidim da ulaznice baš nisu razgrabljene, a od ekipe s svih strana čujem da su "negdje" i da preskaču tako da, neće baš biti nakrcan stadion
