Pletikosa,
31, has been sporadically linked with a move to the Premier League over
the past few seasons but now appears to be destined for England after
Redknapp admitted his interest in the Spartak Moscow 'keeper.
Redknapp
is hoping that Pletikosa, who was linked with a move to White Hart Lane
12 months ago, will compete with Heurelho Gomes for the No. 1 shirt.
Tottenham also have Carlo Cudicini
and Ben Alnwick
in their ranks.
"I might be taking another goalkeeper from
Croatia - Pletikosa," Redknapp told croatiansoccerreport.com.
"[There is] every chance I might be getting him so that's good."
If
Pletiosa does sign for Tottenham then he will join fellow Croatia
internationals Luka
Modric, Niko
Kranjcar and Vedran Corluka
at the club.
"I would say the best players I ever managed in my
life have been Croatian boys," Redknapp said. "They're fantastic boys. I
have had Igor Stimac, Slaven Bilic, Davor Suker. Robert Prosinecki
was a genius. Fantastic footballers and all great guys."
“Kam hit this tight end SO HARD, I swear I saw that TE’s soul leave Qwest Field right on that 35 yard line.”
