mission

MAICON
Mourinho
is desperate for the cultured, robust Inter right back to follow him
from the San Siro. The Brazil star will cost anything up to L25million
but Real can drive down that price as Inter still owe the Spanish giants
money for Wesley Sneijder.
Eyes on the prize: Maicon could be lured to Real
Madrid by Mourinho
ASHLEY
COLE
If he cannot get
Cole, Mourinho may go for Lazio's Aleksandar Kolarov to fill the
left-back berth. The L15m-rated Serbia star could be sacrificed to fund
Lazio's rebuilding plans.
DANIELE
DE ROSSI
Roma's midfield general (right) would add much
needed grit, especially with the futures of Lassana Diarra, Mahamadou
Diarra and Gago all uncertain. Roma's financial problems could force a
sale for around L40m.
LUCIO
Landing the Brazil
defender from Bayern Munich for an initial L4.2m last summer was one of
Mourinho's best ever pieces of business. Lucio has two years left on his
Inter deal and they will be looking for more than twice what they paid
from Real.
STEVEN GERRARD
The Liverpool
captain has made it plain that he won't discuss his future until after
the World Cup but is increasingly frustrated at his failure to bring the
Premier League title to Anfield. Mourinho was close to signing him for
Chelsea in 2005.
To be Frank: Mourinho would love to take Lampard
to the Spanish capital
FRANK
LAMPARD
A key member of
Mourinho's Chelsea side when they won the league in 2005 and 2006. After
Mourinho went to Inter, Lampard admitted he considered joining him. If
Real come calling it may be difficult to ignore them.
