Palermo focused on UEFA Cup

Palermo coach Francesco Guidolin has refuted claims that his side are preoccupied with Sunday's top of the table clash with Inter, saying instead that the Rosanero are firmly focused on Thursday's UEFA Cup tie against Fenerbahce.

The Sicilians - currently lying in second place in Serie A, three points behind Inter - travel to face the Turkish side in Istanbul amid claims they are more interested in the showdown at Stadio Renzo Barbera at the weekend.

"It's not true that we are only interested in Serie A," Guidolin said. "Our intention is to try to do well in all three competitions. It is however only normal that I must make some choices, as it's impossible to use the same squad all the time."

Palermo's commitment to their UEFA Cup cause has already been called into question this season, with president Maurizio Zamparini claiming he was "not interested" in the competition ahead of the tie against West Ham.

The islanders lie in second place in Group H, with Newcastle topping the pool. Fenerbahce have one point from just one outing so far.

Berbatov povratak na BayArenu

Danas su na rasporedu utakmice trećeg kola Kupa UEFA. Nama najzanimljivija utakmica je između Leverkusena, za koji nastupa naš Sergej Barbarez i engleskog Tottenhama.

Glasgow Rangersi našega Saše Papca, koji nema pravo nastupa, gostuju u Francuskoj kod Auxerrea. Domaćini imaju imperativ pobjede jer su u prvom kolu poraženi od M. Haife, dok Rangersi imaju dvije pobjede iz prva dva kola. U drugom susretu Partizan gostuje kod Haife, dok je slobodna momčad Livorna.

U skupini B, Sergej Barbarez sa svojim Leverkusenom dočekuje Tottenham. Englezi su u prva dva kola upisali pobjede te u ovu utakmicu ulaze rasterećeni. Ovaj susret biti će poseban za Berbatova koji se upravo iz Leverkusena ljetos priključio Tottenhamu.

Zlatan Muslimović i njegova Parma dočekuju nizozemski Heerenveen, dok u Danskoj gostuje Lens. Istaknut ćemo još dvoboje Feyenoorda i Blackburna te derbi skupine H gdje Newcastle dočekuje španjolsku Celtu.
