Serie A striker Cristiano Lucarelli has hit out at Livorno for agreeing a deal with Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg.
The prolific 30-year-old has reacted angrily after the
announcement that a €10 million (£6.9 million) agreement has been
reached for his signature.
He has been offered a €3 million (£2.1 million) three-year
deal to move from his native country, but he feels aggrieved by the
treatment from his hometown club.
"They told me they would never sell me and then in half an hour they found an agreement with Zenit," he told television.
"I don't mind. The truth is that I've tolerated Livorno for
three years. I only stayed for the goals and the great love the
supporters showed me. I thought I deserved more consideration."
Lucarelli notched an impressive 20 league goals for the
Armando Picchi outfit last term, and the Russians are anxious to secure
a marksman of that calibre for their Premiership campaign.
