Gambia U-20 and Steve Biko's combative central defender Lamin Samateh, commonly known as bassman, is in Dinamo Zagreb for a possible contract with the Croatian champions.

The defender's agent Ousman Sillah of Kingstone Sports Management firm, has revealed that Samateh, who is reported to have had a successful trial spell with the club back in June of this year, is presently in the Croatian capital to complete a possible deal. The chief executive officer of the Gambia premier tier club Steve Biko, Mr Kemo Ceesay, will have to give a final decision should the Croatian outfit decide to give  Samateh a contract, Sillah said.

"Lamin has been training with the second (reserve) team of Dinamo Zagreb and will join the first team on Monday [yesterday]," agent Sillah told Observer Sports from his base in Dakar yesterday. According to Sillah, both the club president and the technical director were impressed and pleased with Samateh's abundant techniques and attitude, adding that the club's head coach Vahid Halilhod is seeing the hard-rock defender as a possible replacement for the Croatian-born Sime Vrsaljko, who is expected to join either Manchester City or Tottenham Spurs in January.

After sixteen league matches, Dinamo Zagreb currently occupy the top spot in the 16-team Croatian league table with 41 points - 7 points away from second-placed side Hajduk Split.
