Kapetan momčadi Josip Šimunić još se oporavlja od ozljede i umjesto treninga odradio je terapiju dok na treningu nije bio niti Marko Kolar koji se priključio juniorima s kojima ide na turnir u Ujedinjene Arapske Emirate.

Inter Milan, Celtic & Benfica to send youth teams to UAE

One time star: Al Ain hero Abdulrahman has played in the tournament.

Inter Milan, Celtic and Benfica are among the prestigious clubs sending academy teams to the UAE next month for the Al Ain International Juniors Football Championship 2013.

The six-team tournament, which takes place from April 5-15, will also feature youth teams from hosts Al Ain, Japanese club Kashiwah Reysol and Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb.

This year will be the sixth edition of the championship which last year saw Manchester City edge out Al Ain in the final.

Current Boss star Omar Abdulrahman took part in the 2009 tournament, impressing Spanish side Espanyol so much that they offered the midfielder a move to the Barcelona-based club.

“The championship (has) become well known after great successes due to the deep insight of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the championship patron and first supporter,” Al Ain CEO H.E. Mohammed Obeid Hamdoun said.

“The championship’s success and its good fame (enabled it to) start calling the best international football academies to participate in the championship and we hope to attain all sought targets.”
