Silesian Stadium (Polish national stadium) is the biggest stadium in Poland, with
47 202 seats. It was built in 1956. Arena is located in "Silesian Central Park", in Chorzów. In this multi-function stadium Polish national footbal team has playing since 1957.
Silesian Stadium is also a popular arena for music concerts - The Rolling Stones, Ramstein, Metallica, U2, Linkin Park, Genesis, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Pepers and many others played here.
Stadium will be renovated soon, project will be made by
GMP Architekten, German Architecture Studio from Aachen, which makes projects for of Berlin's Stadium, Chinese National Museum or new Central Station in Berlin (Lehrter Bahnhof).
Renovation should starts in 2009 and its end is predicted for summer 2010.
