How much is the Championship play-off final REALLY worth?

The winners of Monday’s clash are set to pocket an additional revenue of at least L170million across the next three seasons.

As Sky Sports report, that figure is a combination of two main things.

Firstly, the play-off winners will gain the extra revenue from playing in the Premier League, expected to be approximately L95m.

And secondly, they’ll get parachute payments in 2020/21 and 2021/22 should they be relegated which would total to around L75m across the two seasons.

The money will go up even more if Villa or Derby can stay in the top-flight beyond next season.

The previous figures would increase to around L300m for being in the top-flight while parachute payments would go over the L100m mark.
