[QUOTE]Dado Prso
As he came off the field at the end of his first SPL match, an aggressive and competitive draw against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, Prso had been kicked on both ankles, had failed to score, and was exhausted. Referee Stuart Dougal walked up to him and murmured: "Welcome to Scotland."
Few would have been surprised if a player who had arrived from the sporting comfort zone of Monaco, perhaps feeling he had little to prove in Scotland having played in last season's Champions League final, had shown a questionable stomach for the rigours of an SPL campaign.
When Prso occasionally seemed a little ponderous and laboured in the first few weeks of his Rangers career it seemed as though Alex McLeish had signed someone who had peaked in an excellent season for Monaco in 2003-4.
As Ally McCoist and Mark Hateley did before him, Prso won Rangers supporters over with a combination of goals, consistency and, above all, commitment. He has turned into one of McLeish's finest signings. His play is tireless, moving relentlessly to find space before laying the ball off to team-mates or barging defenders into errors and eventual submission. And 18 goals in 39 appearances is the hallmark of a cool, reliable finisher.
Prso has epitomised the resilience, character and athleticism of McLeish's rebuilt Rangers.
