Football’s Greatest Managers on Sky Sports

Sky Sports are to broadcast a series of programmes over the Christmas period focussing on Football’s Greatest Managers.
The 10 part series profiles a different manager in each programme
including Jose Mourinho, Bill Shankly & Sir Alex Ferguson. There are
multiple opportunities to see the episodes over the festive period
across the Sky Sports channels, dates and times supplied below are for
the first showing of each episode only :
Episode 1 – Jose Mourinho – 22 December – 10.15pm – Sky Sports HD1
A young manager with plenty of character, Jose Mourinho shot to fame
by winning the Champions League with Porto. He thrived at Chelsea, Inter
Milan and is now at Real Madrid.
Episode 2 – Bill Shankly - 22 December – 10.45pm – Sky Sports HD1
In a 14-year spell at the helm of Liverpool, Bill Shankly picked up
eight major honours. He is considered to be one of the greatest British
managers of all time.
Episode 3 – Sir Alex Ferguson - 31 December – 9am – Sky Sports HD1
In 25 years at Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson has lifted 12 Premier
League titles, two European Cups and five FA Cups. On his 70th birthday,
we look back on his phenomenal achievements.
Episode 4 – Bob Paisley – 23 December – 4.30pm – Sky Sports HD1
Bob Paisley is the only manager in history to win three European Cups
with the same club. He led Liverpool to continental successes in 1977,
1978 and 1981.
Episode 5 – Giovanni Trapattoni - 23 December – 4pm – Sky Sports HD1
Few can match Giovanni Trapattoni. In a career spanning 25 years, he
has won league titles in Italy, Germany, Portugal and Austria, as well
as a European Cup and three Europa League titles.
Episode 6 – Fabio Capello - 26 December – 9.30am – Sky Sports HD2
England manager Fabio Capello has enjoyed a fine managerial career in
Europe. The Italian has won seven league titles in Italy and Spain, as
well as capturing the UEFA Champions League.
Episode 7 – Arrigo Sacchi – 26 December – 2.30pm – Sky Sports HD3
Arrigo Sacchi is best remembered for his time in Italy. He led AC
Milan to two European Cups and a league title, and also took the Italian
national side to the 1994 World Cup Final.
Episode 8 – Rinus Michels – 28 December – 5pm – Sky Sports HD1
Rinus Michels won league titles in Italy and Holland, claimed the
European Cup, and led Holland to the 1988 European Championship. He was
named FIFA’s coach of the century in 1999.
Episode 9 – Mario Zagallo - 29 December – 5pm – Sky Sports HD1
Mario Zagallo won the World Cup three times as a player and manager
of Brazil. He introduced the game to some revolutionary tactics and
created the Brazilian dream team that included Pele.
Episode 10 – Ottmar Hitzfeld - 30 December – 5pm – Sky Sports HD1
Ottmar Hitzfeld became only the second coach to win the UEFA
Champions League with two different sides. They are two of the 28
honours he has won as a coach.
