Real Madrid's 2011/12 preseason starts today.
Following medical examinations at Valdebebas, the team is scheduled to
leave for Los Angeles at 11:30. They will hold their first training
session in the city at 10:00 am PST tomorrow.
Real Madrid players arrived at Valdebebas at 8:00 in order to
have their medical examinations, consisting partly on
electrocardiography, blood tests and weight control. The academy's Jese,
Joselu and Casado were the first to arrive at Real Madrid City. They
were followed by Coentrao, Varane, Khedira, Ozil, Xabi Alonso, and
captains Casillas and Ramos.
President Florentino Perez was also at Valdebebas to greet the players.
Kaka was the only member of the squad missing, as he will join his
teammates in Los Angeles.

The team will again use UCLA’s campus as their headquarters in the US,
staying there between 11 and 24 July. UCLA boasts 173 buildings and 170
hectares in its campus, including two football pitches, a baseball
field, a basketball arena and a gym. This is where they’ll prepare for
their three friendlies in the States, the first being against LA Galaxy.

Real Madrid will visit San Diego for the first time on 20 July to face
Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara at Qualcomm Stadium, with capacity for a
crowd 71,294 strong.

Their final match will take place in Philadelphia against Philadelphia
Union at Lincoln Financial Field, a seven year old stadium which is home
to the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.

Real Madrid to visit Germany and England
Real Madrid played friendlies in Frankfurt, Dortmund and Munich in their
last three preseasons. This year's will see them play aganist recently
promoted side Hertha at Berlin's Olympic Stadium.

The Whites' last stop in the continent will be Leicester. The last time
they played a summer friendly in the UK was against Arsenal and Hamburg
in the 2008 Emirates Cup.

Back to China
Real Madrid toured China back in 2003 and 2005, and will return to the
Asian country once more this summer to play friendlies. The first will
be against recently CSL League promoted side Guangzhou Evergrande on 3
August at Guangzhou’s Tianhe Stadium
