Šterbik out
Spanish goalkeeper Arpad Šterbik debut at the European Championships was short and sweet.
Only a few minutes into the game against the Czech Republic he suffered a leg injury.
The Spaniard, originally from Serbia, will not be able to continue in the tournament and will return to Spain.
His replacement will be José Manuel Sierra from BM Valladolid, who can join the team from the end of the Group Phase.
Second
goalkeeper, José Javier Hombrados, finished the game against the Czech
Republic and is planned to play against Hungary and France, too.
Šterbik’s
injury in his first major tournament for Spain was very unlucky as he
was one of the best cards Spain had in the battle for a medal.
Now the experienced goalkeeper Hombrados will take this responsibility.
