Croatia surprise Europe - Sojat satisfied
Josip Sojat is not simply satisfied – he is proud of his team, and he has good reason to be.


Croatia has been one of the greatest surprises of the euro06 so far and the key to their success has been determination and character.


euro06.com talked to him to find out more about this team and asked him if there is more success to come.


Josip Sojat: We won the final match in the preliminary round because we had more character than the Swedes. Why wouldn't we repeat it?


euro06.com: It seems that you have nothing to lose from now on.

Josip Sojat: We have already achieved more than we were expected to. We had many injured players before the tournament and two more injured against the Ukraine.

euro06.com: What do you know about these injuries?

Josip Sojat: The Hrgovic will have an operation on her knee, while Pasicnik may be fit for early next year, but her tournament is also over.

euro06.com: Spain, France and Denmark will be very tough opponents…

Josip Sojat: We know the Spanish team and we can even beat them. We won against France as well last year, but we will keep our feet on the ground. Anything can happen when you have a team like this.
