Arsenal will face Dinamo Zagreb or Ekranas in Europe

Arsenal will face Dinamo Zagreb or Ekranas in the Third Qualifying Round of the Champions League.

Arsène Wenger's team are likely to travel to Croatia for the start of their latest European campaign after Dinamo beat the Lithuanians 4-1 in the first leg of their Second Qualifying Round match.

Eduardo Da Silva scored twice while Marijan Buljat and Davor Vugrinec were also on target in Lithuania as the Croatian champions virtually secured their place in the next round. The second leg takes place on August 2.

This is a tricky game, Newcastle lost one of these ties to Hadjuk Split a few years back. AW was complaining about players not being ready after the world cup and we also have many injuries, don't forget Ljundberg is out but i'm hoping Aliadiere might get his chance over the Emmanuel "Couldn't hit a barn door, but I can upset a whole nation" Adebayor"

The draw could have been a lot kinder to Arsenal because Zagreb are a very good team, which improved in leaps and bounds last season.

In 2004/2005 they only finoished fourth in their league and missed out on Europe, but it was a much different story last season thanks to a new regime which started recruiting talent.

Last year, they only dropped 10 points when winning the Croatian league again. They won the title by 11 points and lost only once at home.

During the summer, they have stregthened their squad with 3 or 4 of the Croatian League's best players and also added German Jens Nowotny.

They also have a string of Croatian internationals and a few Brazillians.

Its far from plain sailing.

Of course we should beat them, but it will be far from a breeze. I watched them many times last season and they are no mugs.

At the moment, they are Croatia's version of Chelsea and are spending a lot to gain success.

I just hope we don't try and wing it with a reserve team in the 1st leg otherwise the home leg could end up being a real white knuckle affair.

I can see us facing them with an understrength team, with no fresh signings, plenty of injuries, Wenger proclaiming everything is wonderful and - CRASH.

If Wenger thought last season was tough, it's nothing to what will happen if we go out of the CL before the first stage proper.

All those proclaiming an easy draw have already been proved wrong. Wengers bone headed refusal to strengthen our manifestly weakened squad will cost us dear
